why were interchangeable parts and improved machine tools extremely important in the growth of american…….?
of american manufacturing?
Industry before interchangeable parts was made up of specific workers putting whatever pieces by hand. The process to obtain all these parts was time consuming and inefficient in producing large quantities quickly. The ability to create machines even more quickly in turn let industry progress quickly as well.

What is that little machine/tool orthodontists use to file teeth?
Today I had an ortho appointment and she filed down in between a couple of my bottom teeth. She used a tool, and I’m trying to find out what it is called (so I can GoogleImage-it and find a picture) because I’m writing about it in my blog :] (Yes, a braces blog).
So if you’re a dentist, orthodontist, or a dental assistant, do you know which tool I’m talking about?
Thanks in advance :]
It is basically a disc on a mandrel that is used on a handpiece.

EKG: checks the electrical activity and detects AV blocks, arrythmias, etc
Echo/doppler to chech the mechanical structure and function
Muga(multigated acquisition) uses a radionuclide to check blood movement. Used to determine ejection fraction

why geometric progression is prefered in a machine tool?
stepped speed in gear boxes.
Types of Geometric progressions used in design of machine tool gear boxes:
1- Arithmatic progression.
2- Geometric progression.
3- Logarithmic progression.
In Geometric progression, the progression ratio P
P = N (i+1) / N (i).
where i = number of speed (i.e.first, second, etc)
Therefore, the progression ratio P, is always constant. Unlike other two types. So it’s more opt to cover all the speeds needed.

Also, I want to point to some important note here. When comparing the graphs of each of the three types ( diameter of workpiece D — x-axis, and linear velocity V– y-axis). Notice that for the "same range" of Diameter range, you get "more steps" in the geometric progression type.
Good luck.

Key Features and Requirements of Spindle and Bearing for High Precision Machine Tools?
What about them?
Usually, high precision machine tools are a bit beyond DIY projects.
If you are trying to build your own tool, you need to look at how well balanced the spindle is. A larger diameter will result in less wobble. The better bearings you get, the less wear and wobble you’ll get.
You could also consider hydrostatic bearings, but again, that’s not a DIY project.
If you’re repairing a machine, get the specs of what was in there to start with, unless what you’re trying to do is improve the specifications.

How do you adjust the blade height on yard machine lawn mower?
How do you adjust the blade height on a yard machine lawn mower?
Do I need tools?
One does not adjust the blade on a mower. You adjust the height of the wheels. There should be levers that you push in to unlock the brackets and that will allow you to move the deck up and down as desired.
